About Me
I was born in 2004, and lived my childhood in a small Iowan town called Holland. I currently live on a countryside acerage and have one dog and two cats. I work full time at Performance Carbide as a CNC machinist and take evening classes at Hawkeye Community College. On the weekends I collect scrap metal, work on my vehicles/projects, and hang out with friends and family.

My favorite assignment was the week 11 homework for Intro to Programming Logic. There were 4 problems to solve and all 4 had a different type of problem to solve. The first problem was listing all the even numbers from 2 to 200. The second was listing every number from 10 to 1. For the third problem, we had to create a code that rolled a dice 20 times and list the average roll. The fourth problem consisted of a window that a user could enter any amount of numbers to be converted from feet to meters. This homework went more in depth with JavaScript and allowed students to figure out how JavaScript works and functions. I learned that while these were fairly simple problems, there was still a challenging aspect when figuring out how to go about solving said problem. The dice roll for the week 6 JavaScript conversion was pretty interesting because there were multiple correct ways that you could have solved the problem and gotten the right outcome. Because of this I find JavaScript pretty interesting.
Programming Logic Week 11 HomeworkSpring 2024 Semester
The work that I am most proud of in PHP Programming is the individual project. This project let me create a webpage that ties in to my obession with vehicles. Why I like vehicles so much and make almost every project about them I don't know, but I do know that it allows me the opportunity to make some cool stuff. My webpage lets users save vehicles that they own as well as track parts, tools, and tasks for each vehicle. I also have a pretty detailed user home page that shows a selection of statistics such as number of items for each category, total cost for items, and average cost of items. Even though it may hurt, the user can see how much money they have spent on their vehicle(s) and how much time has been allocated to working on them. I find this information interesting, even if it makes me want to reconsider my hobby. This was quite the learning opportunity, and there was a lot of trial and error that went into making a working website. Tying PHP web page to an SQL database was pretty tricky, but once everything worked it was really cool to see the results.
